Rebirth Grants are the primary grant program of the LEH and support humanities projects across Louisiana, including public humanities programs with audience participation and discussion, documentary photography and radio projects, digital humanities projects including websites and online documentation of Louisiana history and culture, assistance with publication projects, new and continuing scholarly research about Louisiana, and humanities-based educational initiatives.
The Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street (MoMS) program brings high quality traveling exhibitions and educational programs to rural audiences and small museums. As the Smithsonian’s partner in Louisiana, the LEH works with rural museums to leverage Museum on Main Street exhibitions to build community capacity and highlight meaningful local contributions to small town life.
This industry-building program is designed to recognize and celebrate the burgeoning, indigenous filmmakers who contribute to Louisiana’s vibrant creative economy. #CreateLouisiana is a partnership between the LEH, Deep South Studios, the New Orleans Film Society, and TV5MONDE USA.
